Cassandra Thayer

Cassandra Thayer is a senior development professional who has been providing fundraising counsel to a diverse range of non-profits for more than two decades. Over her career, Cassandra has managed planning and fundraising efforts for education, healthcare, international and community development organizations. Cassandra specializes in conducting capital campaign feasibility studies, executing capital campaigns and major gift fundraising efforts, and creating strategic development and capacity building plans to support her client’s philanthropic growth. For several clients, Cassandra served in an interim leadership role to help build organizational capacity, develop infrastructure and implement major gift efforts.

Prior to joining Changing Our World, Cassandra worked at the Franciscan Health Partnership and the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor Foundation, an international healthcare foundation that serves the poor. She also worked at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University, where she focused solely on securing major gifts for a $660 million capital campaign.

Cassandra received her BA from the University of Colorado at Boulder and has a Masters of Social Work degree from the Hunter College School of Social Work. She and her family live in Barrington, Rhode Island.
