Cassandra Thayer

Cassandra Thayer is a Senior Consultant in Changing Our World’s nonprofit practice, bringing more than two decades of fundraising expertise to her role. Throughout her career, Cassandra has successfully managed planning and fundraising efforts for education, healthcare, international and community-based organizations.

Cassandra specializes in conducting campaign feasibility studies, executing capital campaigns and major gift fundraising efforts, and creating strategic development and capacity building plans to support her client’s philanthropic growth. She has also served in an interim leadership role to help build organizational capacity, develop infrastructure and implement major gift strategies.

Prior to joining Changing Our World, Cassandra worked at the Franciscan Health Partnership and the Franciscan Sisters of the Poor Foundation, an international healthcare foundation that serves the poor. Additionally, she worked at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University, where she focused solely on securing major gifts for a $660 million capital campaign.

Cassandra received her BA from the University of Colorado at Boulder and has a Masters of Social Work degree from the Hunter College School of Social Work. She resides in Barrington, Rhode Island with her family.
