BACKGROUND
Nothing better encapsulates the generosity of American philanthropy than CARE. At the end of World War II, CARE introduced the first CARE Package® for the post-war hungry, ultimately delivering 100 million of them to families around the world. For 75 years, CARE has been a global leader within a worldwide movement dedicated to ending poverty. Last year alone, the organization worked across 100 countries and reached nearly 70 million people through its projects.
CHALLENGE
In 2015, Changing Our World partnered with CARE to evaluate and ultimately re-imagine its philanthropic approach and potential. Together, we’ve addressed a variety of opportunities and challenges, including: campaign development, change management, leadership development and training, and donor engagement strategy.
SOLUTION
Over the past five years, our partnership has transformed CARE into a true donor-centric organization, one that thrives with co-creation and innovative program development. Most notably, CARE’s Major Gifts program has transformed from a consistent annual fund to a thriving and dynamic fundraising program; in the first four fiscal years of our partnership, CARE’s Major Gifts revenue has more than tripled, generating long-standing partnerships that have magnified CARE’s impact and allowed its work to expand.
